Jody and I flew to Hawaii this month and really, REALLY took a vacation!
The trip wouldn't have happened if it were not for my parents. They have a timeshare that many years goes unused...so they have "weeks" of vacations that build up over time. My parents rarely travel, because it's just too difficult with Michael; so being able to share this trip with them was a wonder! They were able to book two rooms at the Marriott's Maui Ocean Club on Kaanapali Beach. Thanks to Aunt LaMae for graciously watching Michael and Mom and Dad Tait for taking such outstanding care of Gracie. My mom and I both had our separate melt-downs. I lost it on the plane ride over and couldn't stop crying...I just missed Gracie so much! My mom had a hard time, but she and my dad needed a break from their daily routine. They haven't been on a vacation without Michael in 9 years. We love you Mom and Dad!
While in Maui we snorkeled and saw all different kinds of fish and huge sea turtles. The turtles were just an arms-length away from us. It was so great. We also went on a "Dinner Cruise"...which should have been called a "Booze Cruise"! We don't drink, but those who did provided some great entertainment!
The weather was incredible, and the views were just stunning! We enjoyed building a sandcastle on the beach...
We also shopped around in the adorable town of Lahaina. Thanks to the Lahaina Loony... for making our trip so memorable. You know who you are. Straight Up!
Also while we were on the islands, my dad celebrated his birthday! My dad is the hardest working person I know. He is always looking for ways to lend a hand and ease the burden for someone else. Thanks Dad for everything you do!
We also drove the narrow Road to Hana. (I nearly threw up....it was worse than I thought it would be) We got out of the car quite a few times to enjoy the scenery. Jody led us on a hike through a Bamboo Jungle. It was intense. Jody informed me later that he's read about deadly large snakes that live in Sugar Cane and bamboo rainforests...Hmmm...Glad I didn't know that during our little adventure!
Our hike took us to these waterfalls. Jody is taking in the moment!
Jody and Dad showcased their surfing skills!
All Washed Up!

I'm so glad you got to go on a trip with your parents...especially to Hawaii! It looks like you had a great time!
I'm uber jealous! Looks like so much fun. You are beyond darling and a total babe in the bikini! HAHA
WOWEE! What a trip! Lots of great pictures! I have been waiting for these!! What a well deserved vacation for you and your parents.
I'm so glad you posted your Hawaii pics. It looks like you guys had a blast. What fun. You deserved it. I was wondering how you'd do leaving Gracie, but I didn't want to say anything. You two are so sweet together. Good job getting the cry out before the trip really got started. There's not much more to do on a long flight, way to go with your timing! Have a great Thanksgiving.
That looks like so much fun! I can't wait until we go. We are going on our 10th year anniversary! Thanks for the preview!
Looks like you had so much fun!! You are so cute Brittany!
Brit I love the pictures! Wow how those pics just took me back in time (11 years)! How were the sea turtles? Any hit ya in the face? hehehe. I'm so glad that you were able to go on a vacation, just you and Jody and your mom and dad. You all deserved it.
I am so jealous. That looks like so much fun. I went to Hawaii when I was 15. I don't think Cory has ever been. That is on the wish list. That is great that you were able to go with your parents. I love the pic of Jody and the waterfall. We miss you guys. Hopefully we can do lunch in Utah in December when we come through.
How fun! I am so jealous. We did the same trip exactly a year ago and your pictures make me want to go back asap. Except the Road to Hana... got sick and wouldn't do it again:)
Looks like it was so much fun. I'm glad everyone is back safe and sound.
how fun!!! What a body you still have:) I am jealous....you look great. Your parents are amazing, I am glad they took a break and went on vacation. Looks like you guys had a great time.
I am extremely envious of you right now girl. All of these pictures really show just how much fun you really had. And you look so tan. You all look stunning Brittany. Can't wait to see you!
Wow what a nice trip! It looks like a really nice and relaxing time you guys had!
I am so jealous! It looks like you had such a wonderful time! The beach looks so pretty! I want to learn how to surf so bad Jody... when I get the opportunity you will have to give me some pointers!
p.s. Brittany your swim suit looks so cute! I am glad you found one, yours looks good too Jody!
Wow! Looks like you had so much fun. I have never been to Hawaii and always have wanted to go. You guys really soaked up some sun, and Brittany! What a hot bod! It doesn't even look like you could have possibly had a baby...EVER!!!
I'm glad you two were able to take that trip! How brave of you to leave Gracie. I bet that was hard. We'll have to compare notes. Dave, Reagan and I are headed to Kaui in January. I hope you guys are doing well in UT. We miss you!
That looks like so much fun. Your parents are great people. I have always enjoyed being around them. I have only been to Hawaii once with basketball last year but I never got off Waikiki Beach. When I go in January I hope that changes.
Being away from your kid is hard. I had my first extended trip with all my travel over Thanksgiving for five days and I couldn't wait to get home to see Cami.
So glad you had fun.
How fun! All of those pictures are so pretty too! I love Maui. I think I will move there someday! :)
I'm too jealous. Congrats on getting away---all new moms deserve a big vacation like that (I'm still waiting for my vacation from Claire...) Of course by the time it happens, maybe I'll look as great in a swimsuit as you do :)
I love Hawaii!!! Brittany, how fun that you got to go with Jody and your parents! It looks like you had a well deserved blast!
